I am a former local authority Head of Paid Service / Chief Executive who has run my own successful public service consultancy since 2005 - firstly Peter Lerner Consultancy Limited, and currently Daws Hill Consultancy Limited..As a consultant, I now specialise in coaching and mentoring of senior public sector managers, training (in particular, training elected Councillors), public service reviews (for Slough Borough Council, Winchester City Council, Peterborough City Council and others) and confidential investigations. I also provide advice for a limited number of community-based clients - Parish Councils, environmental groups, neighbourhood forums etc - on the intricacies of the planning system. I have extensive experience of interim public sector management at high level, including London Borough of Hounslow, the Royal Boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea, and Windsor and Maidenhead, Oxfordshire County Council, Guildford Borough Council and more.I am an experienced public speaker and have addressed a number of business and environmental organisations, including the General Assembly of the Royal Town Planning Institute.Outside the world of paid work I am also particularly active. I am a Governor of Lane End Primary School and until recently I was an executive member of the Buckinghamshire Association of School Governors, also representing the Wycombe area on the Buckinghamshire School Governance Consultative Board, where I was elected to the position of Chair in October 2020.As a long-term supporter of my local Football League club, Wycombe Wanderers, I was for four years an elected member of the Board of the Wycombe Wanderers Trust, and remain a Trustee of the Wycombe Wanderers Foundation. I was co-founder of the Wycombe Wanderers Disabled Supporters Association.I am an Accredited Mediator and an Accredited Coach and Mentor. I am a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and the National Infrastructure Planning Association.
