Manufacturing Engineer
Responsibilities as a manufacturing engineer included using technical expertise in support of daily operations in aseptic filling by working to progress the Fresenius Kabi Melrose Park Expansion Project. This project was an undertaking by the company to modernize and improve it's injectable pharmaceutical technologies, increasing the branch's size substantially. With the influx of new modern technology, this position was a designated Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Lyophilization equipment and processes within the new manufacturing lines, and required Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Preventative Maintenance (PM) manual creation regarding start-up and operation of the new equipment from scratch. In addition to creating operating procedures for the equipment, this highly flexible role required mechanical and tool proficiency in order to maintain the equipment and work with the vendor to qualify it. As one of the few positions familiar with this equipment, I also served to execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) at vendor sites in Germany, Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) after the equipment had been installed on-site, as well as Performance Qualification (PQ) testing and activities, among others. This resulted in an extensive knowledge in highly controlled Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and strong familiarity with Quality and Validation Engineering activities.
Student Teaching Assistant
I resumed my position as Student Teaching Assistant after returning to the University of Missouri after my coop position. The responsibilities and expectations were the same as previously stated.
Mechanical Engineer Cooperative Position
Duties included design, detail and troubleshooting of ongoing customer projects using Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks programs. I assisted with documentation/BOMs on jobs and in the shop when necessary. I was also given the task of documenting the build process and writing a build manual for multiple cooling products that did not previously have traceable instructions on how to do so.On top of my daily duties, I was able to complete a few efficiency-related programming projects during my time at Computech, including a price-cost estimator and a project cost and hours tracking document for the company. These were coded in Visual Basic.
Student Teaching Assistant
Teaching assistant for a multi-disciplinary 3D-printing and computer aided design class. It is the first of it's kind at the University of Missouri and offers a look into maker culture and the creativity of designing the world around you. My duties include teaching numerous CAD programs as well as 3D printing technology certification and critiquing and grading of project material. Includes research and projects regarding children's education as well as working to inspire young people toward a more robust and gender diverse, STEM-related field.
