At the beginning of my career, one of my mentors presented me with a quote by Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, "The most damaging phrase in the language is 'We've always done it this way'." Since that day, this quote has stayed on my wall to ensure its the first thing I see every morning when I walk in and keeps me looking forward and always asking "why?". I pride myself on my thought process, hardwired to question the areas where change and evolution haven't occurred throughout my personal and business lives. Whether it be rebuilding the process for reconciling accounts or rethinking a better way to build the culture within our organization, it all begins with "why?". I walk a fine line between managing numbers and leading people. When a decision needs to be made, I make it and I stand by my decision. I believe that it is our right to work in an office we love to go into every day and strive to ensure all of my actions support that belief.
