CurrentPeter holds a PhD in physics from the University of Tasmania. His expertise is applied across façade engineering and sustainable building design. Over 29 years he has specialised in energy performance modelling of all types of fenestration systems and whole buildings. Peter is a past Visiting Researcher and a current Visiting Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where he continues applied research into the energy modelling and rating of windows and skylights. He continues research on the impact of windows on human comfort in buildings.Peter is a foundation Technical Committee member of the Australian Fenestration Rating Council (AFRC). He is an accredited simulator with the AFRC and is active in ASHRAE Technical Committee 4.5 (Fenestration). He was also editor of the fenestration chapter of the 2017 edition of ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals. He is a principal with DesignBuilder Software Australia, which is a powerful building energy simulation tool incorporating the EnergyPlus (US DOE) simulation engine.
