I worked for 8 months at the Total site on TAR's, carrying out Inspections on vessels and pipe work.Various Gas & Oil pipe work, using various techniques.

Initially I was domiciled on Shetland in a core crew of 2 Technicians who worked with the Client run P.I.B., Plant integrity branch. The Inspection Engineers used the ourselves for various NDT work scopes and we also assisted in Tank and vessel inspection, in greater detail on the Crude Oil tanks and Ship jetty's, including the Power station which at the time was run by BP.I was then placed on the Schiehallion Project Team at SVT, carrying out a month on site 7 days a week and a long weekend off. This project involved various pipework modifications and addition of pressure vessels and exchangers to handle the viscosity of the West of Shetland Crude Oil.Duties included the supervision of welding operations, adherence to standards and ensuring appropriate NDT was executed at each modification location.First pass acceptance of all radiographs, including interpretation, prior to submission to the client for final sign off.

Silverburn Place

and carried out a period of development within the organisation working offshore in North Sea and Onshore Facilities and fabrication companies in and around Aberdeen. I assisted in NDT work carrying out duties which included- Ultrasonic Inspection, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Dye-Penetrant Inspection & Radiography. 1 of 2
