Implementing and managing the spectrum of Kenya-based accounting policies, practices and procedures, including but not limited to the integration of organization-wide accounting and reporting standards consistent with applicable requirements and the utilization of appropriate tools and software. Providing interpretation, guidance, and assistance to colleagues and Kenya-based staff regarding all aspects of organizational budgeting and accounting procedures. Ensuring fiscal oversight and management of all expense disbursements (including vendor payments and allowances to beneficiaries) consistent with organizational objectives and mission. Forecasting, preparing, managing and monitoring annual budget; preparing and reviewing monthly budget variance reports in consultation with applicable Program Head(s) and Boston office. Managing monthly general ledger and payroll distribution; investigating and resolving discrepancies. Overseeing and auditing vendor invoices and payments to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures. Interacting with vendors to resolve payment issues. Responsible for strict adherence with all Kenya tax obligations, including PAYE and other statutory requirements. Maintains clear records to ensure and provide evidence of such compliance. Ensuring all Kenya-based accounts and finances are in compliance with all County and Central Government laws, licensing requirements, audit and reporting requirements, and other applicable regulations. Responsible for sourcing and liaising with certified accountants, consultants, and/or other qualified professionals, as required, to ensure organizational compliance with reporting and auditing obligations. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records as evidence of such compliance.
