During emergency situations, I have controlled the crisissituation, guided staff response, and secured the area to maintain the orderly running ofthe institution. As the Special Housing Unit Lieutenant, I was responsible for the orderlyrunning of the unit in which I supervised twenty correctional officers. I managed thecare, custody and control of approximately 100 high security offenders. I ensured allinmates received all policy required meals, clothing and linen, hygiene items, andrecreation. During this period, I conducted several immediate and calculated uses offorce, some with the use of chemical/stun munitions. Acting as the Segregation ReviewOfficial, I ensured all reviews were completed within time frames, and all ninety day PostDisciplianry Segregation reviews were completed. As a Operations Lieutenant, Imanage approximately 50 correctional officers and supervise their duties maintaining ainmate population of approximately 1200 medium security inmates. I makefrequent rounds of the institution ensuring the staff are keeping the safety and sanitationstandards at a outstanding level at FMC Devens and FCI Fairton. Ivisit correctional officers on post, ensure they understand policy, guide them in themanagement of the inmate population, and offer on the spot training to assist them intheir daily duties. I have dealt with many potentially volatile situations and utilized mycommunication skills to deescalate the situation at hand. I have earned the respect ofstaff and inmates alike, due to my fairness and application of policy.
