With 45 just 50 years of work experience in the electrical engineering field, I have just started a role for McKay Group as lead renewables technical engineer. I am a seasoned and versatile professional who can lead, design, and deliver complex and innovative projects in the data centre and renewable energy sectors. As the APAC Engineering Director at Vantage Data Centers, I am responsible for overseeing the engineering design, construction, and operation of data centres across the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of reliability, efficiency, and sustainability. I am passionate about advancing the data centre industry and contributing to the global transition to renewable energy sources, as well as bringing diverse perspectives and experiences to the team.Prior to joining Vantage Data Centers, I was the Electrical and water team Leader at GHD, where I led a team of engineers in delivering a wide range of projects for retail, institutional, tertiary, and industrial clients. Some of the projects I worked on include a multi-million dollar mining village, pumping and power solutions, HV design, substation automation, industrial control, and a high-technology energy efficient multi-function space. I have also obtained certifications as a Certified TIA-942 Design Consultant and Certified TIA-942 Auditor, which demonstrate my expertise and credibility in the data centre field. I have developed skills in project planning, project engineering, renewable energy, and team management, which I apply to my current role and future challenges.
