Christchurch

A team leading development role starting with just myself as the lone services engineer in the Christchurch office to present day with a well rounded capable team of engineers delivering on retail, institutional, tertiary and industrial projects. Current projects include a multi million dollar mining village, pumping and power for a number of clients. Past projects include HV design, substation automation, industrial control, pumping and an active high technology energy efficient UCSA multi function space including the replacement Ngaio Marsh theatre. This 4000m2 facility includes function spaces, offices and bars. A 7 Ha of hydroponic glasshouse development, a number of medical centres and a high dependency institutional facility. Balancing this technically challenging workload with retail centres and a library are just some of the challenges of running a team that I have enjoyed to the fullest extent.

Christchurch

CapX expanded to the point where it needed either an injection of significant amounts of capital or look for alternatives, NDY expressed interest and had synergies with CapX. It was a transition that moved a small business into the next league of consultancy in Christchurch.

Project managing the University of Canterbury tender phase, providing design leadership and Engineer to contract roles for Tauranga City Council waste water pumping stations and a number of supporting roles including car park services design for 5 Mile (a new town development), and a refurbishment scoping exercise for Rangiora town live theatre. I also provide mentor support for junior engineers and general management functions for a small electrical group tasked with providing office and some country wide technical support to the main MWH business streams.
