After working for the Public Defender’s office in Boston, Massachusetts, Mr. McNulty was associated with the firm of Lawler, Felix and Hall (now Arter Hadden) in Los Angeles. In coordination with Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro (now Pillsbury Winthrop), he defended clients such as Chevron, Pacific Telephone & Telegraph, Amtrak and Miles Laboratories in complicated personal injury and commercial litigation matters both in California and nationally. Since 1983, Mr. McNulty has run his own firm in Los Angeles with affiliated offices in Europe and Asia. His firm specializes in the preparation and trial of catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death actions as well as complicated commercial actions with an emphasis in Class Action/Mass Tort Litigation. His firm has also represented numerous Asian corporations (China Tire, Asia Pulp and Paper and eSun Holdings, Ltd.) and high net worth individuals in complex business litigation in the United States and Asia. His firm has also represented Nevada Energy Company in energy related litigation against El Paso, Dynergy and Sempra. His individual verdicts and settlements total, not including class actions, in excess of $400 Million. He has tried over 100 cases to verdict and has been involved in multiple nationwide class actions involving medical devices and pharmaceutical products such as Accutane, Intra-Ocular Lenses and AMO. He currently is co-lead counsel in class action cases involving VW/Audi (MDL 1790) and UPS (MDL 2153). Mr. McNulty has an AV Preeminent Rating with Martindale Hubble, is listed in their Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers and has also been selected as a top rated lawyer in Medical Malpractice Law. Mr. McNulty has been an invited lecturer for courses sponsored by the American Bar Association, American Association for Justice and local Bar Associations. Mr. McNulty has also been selected as a Super Lawyer (2010-2014) and has been a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates forum since 2000.
