I have 20 years of professional experience in the financial services industry with a concentration in mutual fund accounting. Through my experiences, I have acquired a high level of knowledge about different types of investments (Equity, Fixed Income, Futures, Options, Swaps, and Impaired Securities). I’ve also gained valuable problem-solving skills and leadership experience which helped me get promoted four times, and by doing so I earned the trust of my clients having provided them with the best service possible.The foundation of my character began in my Senior year of high school, when I was voted “Everyone’s Friend” and “Done Most For the Class” followed by surviving adolescent bone cancer, which later in life led to an above-the-knee amputation. This experience has solidified my positive virtues starting with, having a strong will to survive. At 18 years of age, instincts kicked in in the form of bravery, fearlessness, and leaning on my support system because I was headed into unchartered waters. The effects of surgery, chemotherapy, to having a disability, reshaped my entire life. Moving forward gave me the resilience to overcome the obstacles in my way and in the end, persevere. I have a strong work ethic, I’m coachable, and I am a fast learner by doing. I am respectful to my colleagues and I thrive working on teams as well as autonomously. I’m willing to take on challenging opportunities or difficult projects, and anytime my contributions deliver meaningful insights, that’s my reward.I recently received a Master’s Degree in Data Analytics and I am highly motivated to apply new and transferable skills to pivot towards a career in Data Science. I am also committed to investing time and energy to gain experience as an Analyst to further develop my skills in relentless pursuit of my career goals.
