Working on an NPI project developing a remotely operated load management device for Distribution Network Operator’s Low Voltage network. Based at Devonport Royal Dockyard, Plymouth. Completed a Design placement on the Type 31 Frigate programme for the Royal Navy.o Used FluidFlow design software and P&IDs to develop ship systems.Completed a Production placement, supporting nuclear facilities and directing dockyard operations.These developed strong problem solving skills, resilience and excellent experience of working in large multi-disciplinary teams.

As part of the Mechanical and Thermal Engineering Group I developed technical skills in CAD Design, engineering drawings, FEA, CFD and failure analysis. During my one-year placement I further worked in PARC, the Product Assurance Response Centre which provides a rapid-response failure analysis service. I completed numerous projects in PARC for external and internal customers, and developed technical skills regarding material science, report writing skills and personal skills in the regular dealings I had with customers.
