Responsible for supervising a crew operating at a rigsite running acoustic telemetry downhole tools primarily providing downhole pressure and temperature readings. This involves pre job preparation, mobilization, setup and operation of a wide variety of tools. Data collected must be verified and collated for presentation to the customer, whilst always adhering to strict procedural and safety regulations and participating in various client HSE schemes. Dealing very closely with client representatives to ensure their needs are fulfilled regardless of operations. Also provide feedback on new equipment or procedures and mentor new staff as required. This role is carried out worldwide both onshore and offshore on a variety of installations.

Providing customer support worldwide latterly based in the Middle East. This support was from theoretical classroom based training schools right through to practical rigsite operations. Training would be tailored to the individual requirements of each customer depending on expertise levels and equipment purchased. Continuing support was also provided by assisting with failures, workshop setup and equipment servicing. Also acted as a field hand for customers use as and when required. This support was offered worldwide in a variety of challenging locations both onshore and offshore. A great deal of initiative and independence was required to be able to offer a premium service to the customers in very challenging environments.

As a team leader within the Geo-pilot maintenance department my role was to coordinate various departments to allow the rapid servicing of the equipment whilst ensuring quality was not compromised. This involved methodical servicing and rigorous testing and inspection of complex electromechanical parts. The duties as a technical analyst were to investigate failures, implement new procedures, and ensure the highest standards of quality control were adhered to. This was whilst always complying and participating in the health and safety systems in place, such as behavior-based safety, stop cards, risk assessments etc.

Main responsible was for the running of directional gamma tools at customer well sites. This involved reporting to the client and the Pathfinder office all aspects of the job. Also responsible for QA and presentation of data such as directional, vibration and gamma to the customer. When undertaking these tasks it was necessary to be able to work independently and efficiently to strict procedures and deadlines whilst working closely with other service providers and crew.

This position involved the repair, maintenance and calibration of all aspects of Pathfinder’s fleet of M/LWD tools in the Middle East, such as directional, gamma, resistivity, pressure, density/neutron and acoustic tools. In addition was responsible for maintaining the Pathfinder computer systems and all aspects of the surface system. Other duties included the establishment and running of a Pathfinder operational base in Dubai, and the establishment and running of a satellite base in Azerbaijan offering the full range of Pathfinder services. This was a challenging role involving cooperation across many countries and cultures. Also assisted as a second man on M/LWD jobs when required

Responsible for the repair, maintenance and calibration of all aspects of Halliburton’s fleet of M/LWD tools including fault finding, quality control and reporting. I also was responsible for the repair and maintenance of the computer systems, all related surface systems and Halliburton’s range of A60 offshore units.
