Curiosity, science, technology and nature are very important to me. Deep immersion in wild nature drives and informs my work. Nature in all its amazing complexity and diversity constantly inspires me. The role of science and technology in today's world is critical. Yet, today, science appears to have gone out of fashion and few have much understanding of science or appreciation of what it has to offer. Technology has been immensely beneficial to humankind, but it has also been horribly misused and has cause immense harm. Today, we are challenged to use the best science and technology have to offer to create a harmonious and sustainable world. As a scientist and technology expert, I feel a need to make science more accessible to people, so that they can understand it better and know how it can lead to a better life for all of us. The value of science is that it leads us to deeper and broader exploration of complex natural, human and technological systems. In science, the questions are more important than the answers.
