I hold a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Entomology, and BSc. Environmental Conservation and Natural Resource Management, both from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Currently I am a Transitioning Research Officer at International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe), focusing on edible insect mass production for Food, Feed, Fertilizers and insect-based product development.I am passionate on promoting Food Security, sustainable waste management strategies, agribusiness, at global scale by exploring underutilized food systems to alleviate hunger and malnutrition amidst climate change. My MSc. research focused on developing low-cost technologies for scaling edible insect farming for human food, animal feed, and organic fertilizer production for soil health management and crop yield enhancement in Africa. From the collaborative MSc. research project that was conducted at both icipe and University of Nairobi, I gained vast knowledge and skills in scientific writing, edible insect farming, value chain development, data analysis using different software, and research dissemination through workshops, conferences, and farmer trainings.
