About Peter Nance

First and foremost. Bible teacher and apologist.Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Leader with extensive global experience in the execution and oversight of HSE management systems that facilitate environmental compliance and the safe execution of projects. Peter has provided HSE on-site support to five mega-projects (contract values ranging from 1.4 to 18 billion USD) in North America, Europe, and the Middle East during the last 20 years, while employed by KBR and Fluor. Peter also has expertise in all aspects of QHSE, as documented below, which is reflected in reduced legal and environmental liabilities and significantly less harm to the workforce. To reduce injuries beginning in mid-2021, a focus on moderate to serious work activity risks and recognition of hazards training was initiated in KBR’s R&S Business Unit. This focus, along with a Safety Energy Pilot Program, resulted in a 43% TRIR reduction (2022 vs. 2021) and a 13.7% TRIR reduction (2023 vs. 2022). The final 2023 TRIR was 0.126. A commensurate reduction in lost time injuries (7 in 2021, 4 in 2022, and 2 in 2023) was also a result. The implementation of the Why I Work Safely” initiative established in 2014 and the Safety Energy Pilot Program piloted in 2022 further aided in the reduction of injuries to personnel.Industrial hygiene, government contracts and environmental expertise significantly aided legal counsel, during protracted burn pit litigation, culminating in dismissal of multi-district litigation in Federal court as well as the US Supreme Court upholding a US Circuit Court of Appeals decision. Expert understanding of Texas’ Risk Reduction Rules achieved over 1mm in soils disposal cost savings. A rapid response to a near inlet spill in British Columbia resulted in an expedient cleanup with no lasting regulatory implications. Peter also successfully contractually transferred (with expert analysis of soils and water data and sophisticated age dating of fuels) environmental contamination responsibility to client in British Columbia, shielding Fluor from expending over 10mm for historical soils and groundwater contamination. Prior Subject Matter Expert for US Army Environmental Officer training.Experienced ISO Lead (9001 and 14001) Auditor, capable of leading the development, implementation, and/or update of HSE Management Systems. Expert qualifications navigating the complexities of the entire gamut of HSE regulations and client requirements in the US, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East.
