After recently graduating from Buchholz high school as a 2-sport varsity athlete and a National Merit finalist, I am now figuring out life as a current freshman at the University of Florida pursuing a degree in biomedical engineering on a pre-med track. I am fascinated at the way that medicine and engineering can be integrated to foster a medically advanced society which seeks to help those dealing with medical issues. While we have come a long way in recent years in terms of our medical technology and practices, there will no doubt always be ways that we can improve upon and further develop the field of medicine and the way that we treat patients. I hope to learn and master a variety technical skills throughout my time at UF, and determine the best way for me to contribute to the medical cause. Whether in the fields of professional medicine, the missionary medical center, engineering industry, research, academia, etc., I greatly desire to contribute to the worthy cause of helping others through medicine, and ultimately bettering the lives of others. This purpose of mine is founded on the principles of my christian faith, as I hope to show others that they are loved through whatever help I can give to the medical field. For now, I am just very excited and grateful for the opportunities at UF to explore the things that most interest me, and figure out in what ways I can successfully achieve my goals. And meanwhile, I am thrilled to build connections and relationships in my time at college that will last a lifetime.
