I am the program manager of the BUILD Project at AFIDEP, a complex USAID FP/RH advocacy program which covers a core workplan (PRH) and buy-ins from Africa Bureau and East Africa Mission. I provide overarching management and direction throughout the entire program lifecycle from start up through close out. I have developed procedures to increase performance by implementing sound quality management processes especially on effective working relationships with project partners and stakeholders.As the program manager, I oversee development of project plans, including timelines, budgets, and work plans, and ensure that the project activities are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.I support project staff, including consultants and partners, and ensure that they are adequately trained in both advocacy and programs and supported to deliver high-quality work. On monitoring, I conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of workplan activities and prepare timely and accurate reports for donors and other stakeholders.I have built strong relationships with donors, partners, and other stakeholders, and represent the organization in meetings and events including young leaders who are the next frontier for primary health and climate justice.

As the partnerships, advocacy and accountability manager, I oversaw partnership portfolio with a focus on collaboration with public and private sectors in 11 ESA countries to improve RH space. I led the development and management of partnership, communication and engagement strategies for Governments, Non-Governmental Actors (Including Private sectors) within the East and Southern Africa region to ensure FP supplies availability at last mile.I supported the Country Engagement teams in review of FP2030 countries commitment with a focus on RH Supplies inclusion and financing while pushing for innovations in the FP/RH supplies space including partnerships with FP2030 country and regional donors, among them UNFPA Supplies teams.On grants making and resource mobilization, I support the development of the Rapid Response Mechanism Fund focused on Innovation to scale up uptake of family planning in the ESA region which currently has funded 5 partners.

I develop linkages for Youth Advocates with their county policy makers including County Executive Committee Members (CECs in charge of health, Youth and Gender) while at the National level, i support National policy engagement for youth with Ministry of health and Kenya Youth Parliamentary Association.I support grant making by leading selection of partners to work with Y-Act team nationally while linking with communications team to ensure effective advocacy communication with partnersAs a trainer of trainers, I lead Learning session per county for policy makers in support of the youth led organizations and advocatesY-Act has established an online lining platform for youth in which I support in the in person and online learning as well as mentorship to key project staff, county government officials and youth advocates in the counties to ensure they have up to date capacities in advocating for improvement SRH policy environment and meaningful youth engagement.

Worked at DSW (Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevoelkerung) as the National Team Coordinator – Advocacy where as the Team Leader on Budget and Policy Analysis in the health sector, and particularly reproductive health and Family planning. Advocacy and Evaluation. I carried out Reporting and Documentation of policy engagement and capacity building on advocacy for policy change. I supported networking and Partnerships building as well as Trainer of Trainers on Budget analysis and policy engagement. I had successes in Conducting budget and policy analysis and producing them as publications for advocacy on Budget and health financing for the 2013/14 budget and the 2014/15 Kenyan budget and the counties. The studies were shared all over the country and I did presentations on the same in international forums including the Reproductive Health supplies coalition meetings in Mexico and Norway as well as to budget experts meeting in London, Rwanda, South Africa and Zambia. Budget advocacy is new and key especially for counties and devolved functions in improving domestic funding for health in Kenya.

Worked at Act! (former Pact Kenya) as the Program Officer in charge of Democracy and Governance, where my main roles include advocacy training, drafting program strategy, technical assistance and managing overall strategy. Other roles include organizing trainings and other activities, monitoring and evaluation, budget management and reporting internally as well us to Donors. I have gained extensive experience in governance, both organizational and national as my programme focuses on building the Capacity of youth and women organizations, development of Institutional strengthening plans and implementation of organization priorities.

I gained a good understanding of governance, programme development, research, monitoring, branding and media engagement, and management when I joined KPMG East Africa in the project Kenya’s National Civic Education Programme (NCEP II) popularly branded as Uraia in 2008. As the Assistant Programme Officer, I worked together with a team of 18 youth organizations in developing their capacities in grants management and project implementation. I worked together with a team of 35 organizations in the National Response Initiative where I reviewed their proposal, submitted for approvals, awarded, trained the trainers, monitored and reported on the projects successfully for 3 years. I worked with 11 embassies in developing concepts for Uraia’s funding including the current Uchaguzi Bora Initiative.
