From the foot of the magical Thomson’s Falls in Nyahururu, a force of nature rises. A passionate participatory community led change advocate, experienced with non-profit organizations in the development sector, Peter possesses vast expertise in conceptualizing and implementing high impact policy and advocacy campaigns, participatory capacity building, social behavior change communication and research across East and Southern Africa Region. He has experience in program management, strategic grant making, development communication, alliance building, advocacy and participatory capacity building. embedded in the community, leading change from grassroots; a passionate community driven change-maker who loves people centered development. An accomplished health advocate, Peter has a demonstrated track record in FP/RH program management and team leadership at the subnational (23 counties), national (Kenya) and regional (East and Southern Africa) levels, offering technical capacities and managing governmental, private sector and non-governments relationships. He has demonstrated track record in FP/MNCH/PHC, localization, implementation and milestone reporting. Within Africa, he has given technical support to staff on FP/MNCH/PHC budgeting, mobilize CSO networks set up County Based Family planning technical working groups (FP-TWGs), build their budget advocacy capacities, linked them with county leadership and lead effective advocacy for increased funding for FP.Peter has regional and global experience in advocacy and accountability having worked at AFIDEP, FP2030, Options, chairing #FP2030 Transition Organizing Group (TOG), 2022 #ICFP Advocacy and Accountability Co chair, 2019 and 2024 Gates Institute Global Leadership Accelerator and a 2017 winner of the #120under40 New generation of Family planning leaders. He is also a 2018 #MandelaWashington Fellow and holds a Masters degree in Rural Sociology and Community Development and a Bachelors in Social work.Peter founder Pathways Policy Institute (PPI) in 2019, a community Based organization which seeks to meaningfully engage communities on RH, Health and Climate justice.
