I started developing websites way back when the internet was just getting notorious. Initially I was self-taught, learning from books and by example from others websites. Over time I managed to pull my first website together, even though it was a little horrible, and going through the experience of understanding hosting and FTP and design and code editing and tables and interactivity, I fell in love with the stuff.The desire to learn more, and to kind of formalise my qualifications… Show more I started developing websites way back when the internet was just getting notorious. Over time I managed to pull my first website together, even though it was a little horrible, and going through the experience of understanding hosting and FTP and design and code editing and tables and interactivity, I fell in love with the stuff.The desire to learn more, and to kind of formalise my qualifications, prompted me to undertake a degree in Multimedia Studies and, I picked up a book on Javascript. It was hard to learn. But I persevered and got through it and started to add dynamic elements to my projects. Although that pain in the arse (correct spelling) Javascript book was difficult, it helped me to learn other languages. And that is all you need, a little bit of confidence and knowing what is possible. I pushed myself to go and work as the multimedia dude at Troy Horse. The work I did there was absolutely priceless. Everything from websites to video production, post production, print production, and multimedia CD-Rom and DVD authoring. I am forever grateful to those guys for giving me a chance.My website work ultimately became much more sophisticated and elegant when I discovered CSS3. It was a revelation and gave me complete control over my HTML layouts also taught me to become a craftsman (with a little help from Dan Cederholm of course). I moved onto a more corporate role with AAT Kings looking after their legacy websites and being charged with transforming them into something a little more contemporary, which, for the most part I have achieved.I continue to do a lot of freelance work as I find it keeps me on top of web technology and recently completed a few projects using Shopify Liquid, Squarespace and Kirby. I am also meddling with my own AngularJS blog in an effort to share some of the hard fought knowledge I have gained.I am quite a likeable guy too. Show less
