As a leader of finance who has had the privilege over the last 15 years to play a central role in the success story at Chime, I have been fortunate to work with some outstanding teams, including a talented leadership group. Working closely with the Group FC, I’ve been instrumental to the development of a best-practice group finance function, with key efficiency gains delivered as finance project lead on the implementation of TM1 that transformed reporting efficiency.My long-standing passion for logical precision means my core talent lies in seeing ways to make things work faster and more efficiently, solving problems and collaborating with a wide range of people to improve business performance. I’ve learnt the importance of finding the right balance between managing risk and supporting commercial teams. I love helping cross-functional teams to deliver against their targets, whether that be through cost reduction, process change or revenue growth. I’m a rounded professional with a versatile toolkit, not just a ‘numbers guy’ – I can see the strategic big picture but I pride myself on my ability to get hands-on with crucial details. Most of all, I understand the importance of building trust, adapting my style of communication to the right audience and securing buy-in with a friendly, supportive approach.My seven years of experience learning on the job in two chartered accountancy practices gave me a solid foundation of technical accounting, compliance and audit skills. Combined with 15 years in a demanding group reporting role with Chime, I’m qualified by experience (QBE).
