I am an enthusiastic, hard working person, who is willing to push himself to learn new things to accomplish his goals. I enjoy learning and facing new challenges as I feel this broadens my horizons. This is what motivated me to return to college aged 27 after an eleven year gap in education to study for an OND in Manufacturing Engineering, finishing top of my year with Distinction grades and receiving an award for Best Engineering Student. Nine years later I undertook an adult apprenticeship at aged 36, which I completed in 2015. I also completed my HNC in Manufacturing Engineering in the same year, again achieving a Distinction. In addition I completed the first year of an OU degree in Science but had to shelve my studies due to the workload of full time employment, my apprenticeship and my HNC. I am competent when working alone, but I also work well within a team or leading one. I can communicate my ideas well and am not afraid of making suggestions. I have worked in many different environments, giving me a well rounded background and outlook on work. Patience and perseverance are also strong values of mine and once started, I believe in seeing a job through to the end. I am also keen to continue with my education in some capacity in the future, whether through work or in my own time. In my spare time I enjoy reading, history and Taekwondo, in which I earned a black belt in 2010.
