Peter Rich has extensive experience includes planning and programming all types and sizes of criminal justice facilities, including jails, prisons, juvenile detention centers, courthouses, and law enforcement facilities. Since 1985, Peter has directed 400+ criminal justice projects in 37 States totally 50,000 beds.Prior to joining FG, Peter was the President of CSG Consultants from 1995 to 1998. From 1985 to 1995, he was Vice President and Operations Director for Correctional Services Group. Both firms were nationally recognized criminal justice consulting firms. Prior to working in the private sector, Peter worked for US Federal Justice Agencies – National Institute of Corrections (NIC) and the Federal Bureau of Prison (FBOP). While at NIC Peter was responsible for training nearly 3,000 correction professionals. While with the FBOP, Peter held positions of Education Director, ACA Accreditation Manager, EEO Investigator, and Public Information Officer.

Directed staff and participated in the development of long-range master plans to help decisions relative to capital strategic plans. Helped clients better understand their space deficiencies and facility options to meet future demands. Collaborated with clients to develop building programs, project scope, alternative evaluations, and recommendations of cost-effective goals and objectives to meet long-range requirements. During this period, directed 300+ criminal justice projects in 25 States, Completed over 75 strategic planning, needs assessments and master plans, Completed 100+ planning and programming services for over 30,000 correctional beds, Expert in planning justice facilities, Planned facilities to meet client budgets and site conditions, and Completed over 50 staff plans.
