As a founding shareholder and member of the board, I take a lead role in strategic planning for the business, liaising regularly with the finance and marketing directors on general policy and project-specific decisions, advising and directing on HR, tax and commercial aspects of the business, including merger and acquisition activities.As Technical Director, I have primary responsibility for systems engineering, project management (handling individual projects to £3M budget), recruitment and supervision of technical staff, and procurement, development & support for the company’s in-house range of motorised satellite antenna products. I am extensively involved in bid preparation and costing, contract negotiation and customer liaison at all stages of the project life-cycle.

Project manager for earth station integration and commissioning projects in various countries worldwide, including UK, Western and Central Europe, North and West Africa, and the Far East. Support and development of the company's satellite SHF frequency converter product range. Key highlights include project management for the upgrade of a range of 9m telecoms gateway stations across the length of Gabon in West Africa, and also supply and deployment of a VSAT network to enable the re-opening of international air traffic over the DPRK (North Korea).

Consultant engineer for the design and implementation of a Radio Distribution Network via satellite, including specification, installation of central hub station in Bratislava, and remote receive terminals throughout Eastern Europe.

Design & development of satellite SHF upconverter product range. Technical lead for the procurement, production and test of the converter range, including training and supervision of staff and establishment of the converter production department.

Involved in the implementation and expansion of a satellite radio distribution network with installation, commissioning and maintenance of the central hub station in Quito, Ecuador, and planning/implementation of remote reception sites throughout Latin-America.

Circuit-level design of set-top box front-end tuner & SMATV UHF modulator for consumer market. Responsible for circuit design, oversight of production proto-typing, including pcb layout, manufacture and assembly, production test specification and procedure, test methodology, etc to prepare the product for large scale manufacture.

Satellite earth station systems and equipment design. Assistance to the marketing, production and engineering teams. On-site commissioning of satellite earth stations. Included several overseas deployments to support the supply and integration of an early VSAT network in Indonesia. Recognised at Chartered Engineer status in 1991.
