This partnership between Target employees and students paired each child with a year-long reading buddy meeting weekly for 30 minutes to develop their reading and writing skills aligned with state standards. Developed FAIR Reads with input and collaboration with the elementary teachers, and the University of St. Thomas education department. FAIR Reads is a home-to-school program that delivers leveled books into the hands of our students bridging the home-to-school connection with parents and promoting understanding of the developmental steps of reading.
