Regional Director Cfa Southern Metro Region
Responsible to manage provision of fire and emergency management in the Southern Metro Region of CFA, including municipalities of City of Greater Danadenong, Part of Kingston, City of Frankston, City of Casey, Mornington Pen SC, Cardinia and Bass Coast. 250 staff and 3300 volunteers across 69 fire brigades protecting close to 1M Victorians.SMR is CFA's busiest Region with approximately 11000 primary emergency calls per annum, which equates to approximately 30% of all CFA's response activity.Managed Region during the Black Saturday Bushfires. SMR experienced 182 fires on that day including the Bunyip Track fire of 26500 hectares. SMR had 4 of its fires from Black Saturday reviewed by the Royal Commission and the team at SMR were commended for their management. There was no life and limited property loss from those fires.
Regional Manager Cfa Gippsland Region
Responsible for the managment of the CFA Region of CFA, coverring the municipalities of Baw Baw, Latrobe City, South Gippsland, Wellington and East Gippsland Shires encompassing 150 CFA brigades with 6000 volunteers and approximately 80 staff.Managed Region through periods of major incidents: Moondarra fire 2006, Hazelwood Open Cut Fire October 2006, Gippsland, North East fires of December to February 2006/07. Managed Integrated Fire Agency Coordination Centre for CFA and responsible for briefing Government Officials, Heads of Agencies, Interstate and International Incident Managment Teams and responsible for approval of Strategic Plans from which daily Incident Action Plans were formulated across 5 Incident Control Centres.
Manager Strategic Resource Initiative
Led the Strategic Resource Initiative for CFA 2001-2004, with a budget of $98.5M. This was a special funding contribution by Government to boost CFA’s capacity to service its growing communities. Funding was allocated across 14 programs, including 182 new staff positions, infrastructure and vehicle, youth, community and education programs to expand CFA’s overall service delivery capability across major facets of operation. This required membership of Executive Leadership Team, direct reporting to Minister, Emergency Services Commissioner and CFA Board.
