European Purchasing Director
Led a European organisation with a €500k Indirect spend, 4 direct reports and a team of 60 and a direct spend of €800k, with 7 Direct reports and a team of 30 across 23 European based sites. Led the development of the vision for the area and created sourcing and category strategies, which enabled the development and implementation of 3 year European and local road maps. I then delivered the priority improvements connected with strategy, organization, business process, policy and systems resulting in the delivery of bottom line cost savings of €25m p.a. across all spend areas. A core member of the Akzo Nobel global procurement team, European Leadership team and as the global process owner for the Procure to Pay process instituted best practice and streamlined the process. Based in the UK with extensive travel across Europe.
