Then, to expand my design envelope, I obtained a degree with honours from Southampton in Industrial Design. After an invitation by my principal tutor to become a lecturer in Industrial Design, I experienced five years of engaging and encouraging students to fulfil their potential - many of whom did not realise the skills they possessed. I have worked in various architectural practices, including D'Arcy Race in Oxford, where I had the opportunity to use cutting-edge computer-aided design software in the early 1980s. I have witnessed and participated in the evolution of technology and design in the architectural and industrial design fields, and I love sharing my insights and experiences with my readers. Flipping the coin over to art, I had many years as a professional artist that brought me in contact with many fascinating private clients and companies, such as Ricard Branson and F1 Champion, Nigel Mansell, and the Simplon-Venice-Orient-Express and Volvo Cars, fulfilling part of much-varied life work and I look forward to sharing my enjoyment of the written word with you.
