Since retiring as a partner of PwC in June 2015 I became an Non Executive Director of Allied Irish Bank Group (UK Plc and subsequently its chairman for six years to March 2022. As a partner of PwC I led a number of strategic business reviews of quoted and private companies in financial distress. In these situations, I've assessed the options available for the instructing stakeholder (either lender or management), recommended the best solutions and driven implementation of the agreed option. I understand complex financial issues, prioritise actions rapidly and bring stakeholders with differing agendas to a consensual agreement, often in excessively tight timescales.I have acted as the insolvency practitioner (administrator/receiver/liquidator) in numerous national and international corporate insolvencies. I work with clients to assess asset value preservation and enhancement strategies, including execution risk, and to implement them on a timely basis to optimise recoveries.A summary of my career to date:.
