Managed bid teams to prepare tender submissions for open cycle gas turbine EPC contracts, including:• Kwinana Power Station, 2 x LMS 100 Gas Turbines and balance of plant (BOP)- $200M• Keppel Energy Power Station, Singapore, Trent 60 Gas Turbine & BOP• Alinta Power Station, Port Hedland, Trent 60 Gas Turbine & BOP• ATCO Osborne Power Station expansion, Frame 9 Gas Turbine & BOP

Acting Project Manager on $35M EPC contract for 125MW open cycle gas turbine at Mt Stuart Power Station from the design phase to completion of civil works.Achievements include completion of the design and civil works on time and the completion of the project ahead of schedule and within budget.

Responsible for pre-contracts commercial activities including:• Dalby Bio-ethanol Project pre-contract phase including negotiation of EPC head contract commercial conditions - $85M • Negotiation of EPC contract for Trent 60 Gas Turbine & BOP for Newman Power Station• Consortium agreement negotiations with Rolls-Royce• Dalby subcontract procurement packages for civil works, pipe-racks and mechanical plantAchievements include successful negotiation and execution of the Dalby head contract and completion of the project on time and ahead of budget

Administered the contracts for supply and installation of mechanical and electrical equipment for the Cross City Tunnel, valued over $200M. This included cost forecasting, subcontractor correspondence, progress claims and meetings.Effectively handled a $40M delay and disruption claim ensuring claims were fully evaluated and refuted as necessary, reducing it to $15m whilst also ensuring subcontractors completed works on time.Prepared and let the operation and maintenance subcontracts for the tunnel

Contract management of the power station services business including the following :• Review progress of construction at Swanbank Combined Cycle Power Station• Subcontract packages for Playford Power Station Refurbishment• Tender risk reviews• Project management procedures and process improvements• Monthly project reporting for Operations departmentAchievements include successful implementation of a cost coding structure integrated across engineering, estimating, planning and construction, with computerized timesheets providing daily feedback to managers.

Preparation of contract variations on the Port Kembla Copper Project & Tumut Waste Heat Boiler Project. Achievements include being part of a team that successfully recovered $37M in variation claims, for scope changes for delay & disruption

Responsible to the Site Manager for letting and administration of subcontracts at the Osborne Cogeneration Project to build 220MW power plant, including concrete works, underground piping, HRSG, steam and gas turbines, control and maintenance building and landscaping.

Installation of underground piping and installation of HRSG’s, Frame 6 gas turbines and steam turbine at Smithfield Cogeneration Facility, NSW.Achievements include completion of the above work by the required deadline within budget, in a difficult industrial environment with a demanding client.

Managing a partnering agreement with Energy Brix and the resulting projects at Morwell Briquette Factory, with a workforce peaking at 70 direct employees, including the following:• Two boiler shut downs of 6 week duration, including asbestos removal, removal and replacement of ducting, installation of refractory, refurbishment of fans, coal mills, feeders and conveyors• Inspection of antiquated 60MW steam turbine, planning and costing of refurbishment, dismantling, refurbishment, installation, alignment and commissioning of the turbineAchievements include completion of the boiler works on time, and return of the turbine to operation with virtually no lost time during a period of industrial unrest in surrounding sites.

Installation of Electrostatic Precipitator modules and ducting at Loy Yang B Power Station, including managing transport of 350T modules by hydraulic trailer and lifting of 50T duct modules, including lift planning and calculations.

Letting of contracts for construction of Loy Yang B Power Station 500MW brown coal fired boilers and administration of the site office, including:• Packaging and letting of subcontracts • Cost forecasting and reporting

Responsible to the Contracts Manager for several boiler refurbishment contracts at Hunter Valley power stations, including boiler tube replacement, coal handling plant refurbishment and a coal screening project at Moura Coal Washery, QLD.
