My past experiences in the Lift Industry have been vast, working as a; local Maintenance Engineer/Troubleshooter; Installation Engineer; Regional and National Test/Commissioning Engineer; International Troubleshooter and finally Technical Manager in ThyssenKrupp Elevator's International Technical Services division.During my time at ThyssenKrupp Elevator I have assisted the development and delivery of engineering training to Lift Engineers initially in the UK and eventually across Europe. I currently work for WSP Group as a Technical Director in the Vertical Transportation division and provide support to the University of Northampton on the MSc course in Lift Engineering.Specialties: Design of Vertical Transportation solutions for new and existing buildings. Lift traffic studies and analysis for complex buildings. Fire-fighting and Evacuation Lifts, considering the use of Lifts to assist the evacuation of buildings in emergency conditions including building fires. Application of Lift Industry Regulations, Codes and Standards; Lift Traffic Design; Specification Writing and Technical report writing.In 2016 I assisted the University of Northampton in writing an Engineering module as an Elective unit toward the award of MSc in Lift Engineering on the subject of Lift Traffic Analysis. Since that time I have worked as an Associate Lecturer on delivering the module and still enjoy that aspect of my career today.
