David Flanagan. That's the person who really spurred my interest in programming with his legendary book JavaScript: The Definitive Guide.I remember how I used to peek through David's book along with others (on asp, jsp, perl and awk – great mix) while waiting around at my mom's office after school. If only I could write code like the others at the office...Back home I would try to solve challenges using mainly web technologies. Many late nights there were! For those who remember there was a great, Swedish forum called webforum.nu where I was very active helping out by answering programming questions.My interest in programming led me to study Computer Engineering at university and, from then until now, the journey's been quite interesting and perhaps not what I initially thought it'd look like. From being absolutely certain that sitting at a desk, in a dark room, 8 hours a day just coding away, would constitute my whole professional life, a management opportunity came up which at first seemed both crazy and scary, but would turn out to be just the opposite. (Well, it can still be kinda crazy and scary, but on the positive side.)I've now been working as a manager since 2016 and in my current role I manage a department of 110 extremely talented members in different kinds of roles: managers, developers, business analysts and testers (QA and automation). We work in autonomous teams, with distinct responsibilities, distributed across Sweden, Poland, and Malaysia, all contributing to creating the best ERP software for customers in our target segment (manufacturing).I love analyzing and finding solutions to complex issues! To constantly improve is in my DNA.
