Teamlead for economic optimization of refinery operations and supply logistics. Responsible for daily instructions to operations and running Rotterdam refinery according plan developed every two weeks with feed & product price input. Accountable for development of Supply plans for turnarounds and catalyst changes.

Responsible for scope and budget of maintaining Rotterdam refinery offsite area (tankage, jetties, interconnecting piping and waste water treatment facilities). Yearly budget of well over €10M

Budget responsible and Safety accountable for facilities on the refinery's non-plant area. Developed leadership skills as supervisor of secretary pool of 10 people and member of extended site leadership team. Responible for organisation of turnaround temporary facilities (housing, catering, scaffolding, insulation and heat exchanger cleaning) for 2300 and 1400 people.

Reporting and analysis of refining earnings for Antwerp and Rotterdam refineries. Developed understanding of what drives operating gross margin. Responsible for roll-up of global ExxonMobil refining volumetrics in yearly budgetting cycle. Coordinated input for 2-yearly Solomon benchmarking study.

Coordinating and supervising local NGO's for construction of latrines, exploration and development of potable water wells. Sensibilisation of local people on importance of hygiene and clean water.

Development of Real-Time Optimisation model that determines optimal refining production conditions. Inputs are product prices and actual process conditions, outputs are setpoints to the process control system, driving the plant to it's economical optimum operating point. Including coordination of heat exchanger cleaning during turnaround.

Debottlenecking, optimisation and small project development of crude distilation unit, including turnaround in 2007

Comparing two software packages for their capability of parameter estimation of Chemical processes. Software packages are Aspen Custom Modeler (by AspenTech) and gPROMS (by Process Systems Enterprise)

PSE is a spin-off company of Imperial College university. My assignment was to evaluate gPROMS software on parameter estimation capabilties of a crystallisation process.
