About Peter Van Asperen

I help energy companies and governments navigate the Energy Transition. My team focuses on Energy Regulation and Public-Private financing. We cover areas like the new Energy Act, Heat Act and Renewable Energy Directive. We assist energy companies in making tactical choices within these regulatory frameworks and in their dealings with the Energy Regulator (ACM).We also help governments and public funds create effective financial instruments for energy projects. This includes setting up financing schemes and ensuring compliance with European State aid rules and Dutch regulations (e.g. administrative law).My passion is bridging the gap between companies and governments. I love seeing public and private sectors work together successfully. Some projects I've worked on include implementing price-cap regulation for energy suppliers, advising on the new Heat Act, and assisting in financial deals.Our Energy team collaborates with experts worldwide, including those in Incentives, Tax, Deals, Strategy, and ESG-related issues.Feel free to reach out for a coffee or tea.
