I act as a senior product researcher, I am responsible for product research (for KA products), design external user test (both qualitative and quantitative) to investigate consumer’s overall satisfactions (likes and dislikes) on products, fine their usage habits and insight; Do competitor benchmark (objective quantitative analysis test, user usability evaluation) to find the strong and weakness of products, translate user’s requirements and their voice to project team, evaluate initial prototype and E-trial samples before product launch; create user FMEA and DFU for different projects.

I join whirlpool product development (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd, as their Display technology leader in global UI technology advance team; 1). I am responsible for the selection of display technologies for mega projects, seek potential display suppliers (evaluation and management); do profits, disadvantages, mature and application risk evaluation on different technologies in concept phase; do reliability and quality verification on development phase. I will provide technology support for cross-products team, such as washer/dryer/microwave oven/refrigerator. 2). Define generic display Specifications and design FMEA; 3). New technology introduction (LTPS, OLED, E-paper, projection technology), build prototypes for new technologies cooperation with potential suppliers (3.1. Seek potential suppliers in this field, activities include: analysis technical/manufacture/quality/credit grade/current cooperators/market share. 3.2. Deeply research supplier’s capability, visit and inspect their manufacture/R&D/structure 3.3. Do technical and quality audit, (process and documents) 3.4. Samples and product’s review), to show them to GCD (global customer design) and market organizations. In charge of the UI design for whirlpool’s flagship projects, some UI designs got the highest design awards in US, Brazil and Europe home appliances market. I need to work together with Sharp, TI, Cypress, Freescale, EDT, and Toshiba for TFT LCD, micro-projector and other technologies solution; Make display technology roadmap for whirlpool in 2010~2015; Act as the core members to developed whirlpool’s next generation driving platform atom2 (do the possible interface technologies analysis for touch and display units).

My career in Tianma can be divided into two parts. [Technology work] My responsibility include: the selection of LCD controller and driver IC, design the peripheral circuit of LCD driver ICs and the circuit of FPC and BL; Design software (driving program and test program) to check display performance of LCD; Driving platform based on 8bit/32bits MCU (8051series for mono display, ARM9 based platform for full color TFT display. Program language (assembly language and for 8051 and ARM7TDMI, Keil51 and C); design verification process for LCM according to customer’s requirements on (electrical, mechanical, optical) performance and reliability; Solve these technical issues what happened at customer end (during product level test process and mass production phase);  [management work] I began to act as project manager since Mar 2006, I need to manage these projects what’s consumers are BSH，JCI，SIMENSE VDO, HYANDAI etc. Responsibilities includes: 1) Acquire consumer’s requirements on product through effectively communication, organize project meetings to make feasibility/risk evaluation of projects, and define project’s schedule (consider development period(mechanical/electrical/optical design, material preparation, test and verification.. ), cost target (people cost/material/test/design) and people resource distribution (people capability recognize, distribution, training and development)), set milestones for periodic review; time/cost/design/risk management, deal with conflicts between project team members, act as a window to purchase/marketing/manufacture/quality groups to ensure the plan to be executed on time, cost and quality; Do reliability tests accord with consumers’ Requirements improve our products’ properties, deal with consumer’s feedback, lead project pass through quality Audit.
