PhD in veterinary pharmacology (University of Guelph) in 1972 by followed research experience in veterinary microbiology and vaccinology at the Moredun Research Institute, Edinburgh (1973 to 1978) and the International Laboratory for Research on Animal Diseases,Nairobi (1978 to 1979).From 1980 until the present, although mainly involved in the research and development of new vaccines for the control of disease in food producing animals,during more than 40 years in and around the animal health industry, gained experience in the various aspects of the business. For example in addition to the direction of the technical activities including Registration, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, R&D and Technical Services, led successful projects for attainment of quality accreditation (ISO 9001 and GLP), major investment in production facilities and rationalisation of business activities. Close interaction with Marketing and Sales has been a key aspect throughout a career in this industry. Experienced in dealing with both U.K. and European government departments and agencies.
