Peter Wilson is a private adviser to corporations and governments in Australia with over 20 years of experience across investment banking, finance, legal, government and not-for-profit domains. He was formerly a Managing Director at Greenhill & Co Inc., and before joining Greenhill’s predecessor firm, Caliburn, he practiced as a solicitor with Mallesons Stephen Jacques and lecture law at the University of New South Wales. Peter was instrumental in driving the Greenhill business in Australia as a member of the firm’s management committee and held lead advisory roles on major transactions and initiatives for Australia’s leading corporations and governments. Peter now runs his own business, wilsonemmett, where he continues to advise a range of private and ASX listed companies on major transactions, capital raising and mergers and acquisitions. Recent advisory projects have included work for clients in the biotechnology space, financial services and technology. Peter is also an active investor in early-stage companies with a focus on fintech, biotech and consumer.Beyond business, Peter is committed to governance, philanthropy and advocacy with 20 years experience as a board member and Chair across a wide range of not-for-profit organisations which span the arts, law reform and social justice, health and education. Peter is currently a board director of Artspace and of Unharm, the Treasurer of The Women’s College within the University of Sydney and a member of the Finance Advisory Committee of the Institute of Sister of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea. Peter is currently completing his PHD at the University of Sydney concentrating on the field of corporate governance matters. Peter was the recipient of the 2016 Emerging Philanthropy Leadership Award from Creative Partnerships Australia and was named in the inaugural 50 LGBTI Leaders List by Deloitte in 2017.
