Peter has held a number of senior executive roles in ASX Listed Companies as well as statutory bodies. He has extensive experience in law, corporate governance and Asia. He is currently a commercial barrister and advanced accredited mediator. In addition to Honours/Masters degrees in Law (thesis: directors duties to creditors) he has qualifications from Harvard Business School and Nanjing “Normal” University in China.His affiliations have included being a Fellow of Chartered Governance Institute, Fellow of Leadership Victoria and Fellow Institute Company Secretaries. Five years service as member of the Law Institute’s Ethics Committee; lectured ethics at Leo Cussen Institute and member of Australian Institute of Company Directors.Directorships have included Adcorp Australia Holdings Limited, Law Institute of Victoria, the Victoria Law Foundation, Down Syndrome Victoria and others. Lectured ethics at Leo Cussen Institute. Nationally accredited and advanced mediator.Peter commenced his career as a lawyer at the firm now known as Allens Linklaters and was awarded the prestigious "Australian Corporate Lawyer of the Year". He was a “top 5” executive committee of TABCORP for a decade serving as EGM Corporate, Legal and Compliance (including government and public relations); Chief Executive - Media which included Sky Channel) and then Head of Group Strategy and International for the Tabcorp group.Peter's time is currently divided between being a passionate advocate as a barrister; non-executive Director and providing advice to a wide range of companies. He has a unique combination of:- successfully establishing governance frameworks;- senior operational experience as Chief Executive/Managing Director of successful Australian and International business operations;- responsibility for leading strategy and expansion into Asia for a leading ASX listed company, including some of Australia's largest mergers and acquisitions; and- having served as a legal advisor to Boards and some of the largest companies in Australia and throughout Asia.
