I have practiced law since 1978, concentrating in the creditors' rights, commercial law and corporate areas. I have represented lenders, debtors, creditors' committees, trustees and receivers in state and federal proceedings around the United States. I have experience in a wide spectrum of industries including manufacturing, transportation and financial services. I have significant experience in distress mergers and acquisitions, both inside and outside of formal insolvency proceedings. In 2007, I led a team, including a bankruptcy judge and a financial consultant, to Prague to instruct the judges of the Czech Republic on the newly enacted bankruptcy statuteI have served as Chairman of the Bankruptcy Sections of the Milwaukee Bar and the State Bar of Wisconsin, and am Co-Chair of the Bankruptcy Committee of the Eastern District of Wisconsin Bar Association.. I frequently write and speak on bankruptcy topics. I have also successfully mediated commercial disputes.
