Develops selling prices to the LBU or external customers based on prescribed guidelines.* Reviews the engineering scope of work and applies labor time standards to the elements of work, secures timely material estimates and delivery schedule for material to ensure costs are identified and to assist in the scheduling of the work* Applies a selling price for the work, ensuring that the estimate meets the RBU profit margin guidelines.* Works closely with the RBU Purchasing Department to secure accurate vendor quotes for purchased material and analyzes “make vs. buy” decisions and ensures that part numbers and cost data are available to the accounting department.* Works with the RBU scheduling group to determine where the work would be done and applies the correct labor and overhead cost to the project. The estimator also applies any costs for “outsourced” work to be performed at the repair shops.* Works closely with the accounting department to review the actual costs against the identified conversion estimate to ensure that the project was estimated correctly and that the costs are in line with the estimate.
