As Head of Content Architecture & Discovery at Gracenote, I am responsible for driving new product concepts, the design of the company's radio, recommendation, taste profiling and other media discovery solutions, and the architecture of our music and video descriptive taxonomies and information models.Prior to joining Gracenote, I was Director of Product Management and Strategy for Listen.com Inc., where I developed and championed the original product concept, and acquisition strategy, for "Listen Anywhere", which was subsequently launched as Rhapsody, the world's first on-demand, cloud-based digital music subscription service.From 1996-1999, I was co-founder and VP, Planning & Content for Tunes Network, Inc., creators of Tunes.com, a pioneering and award-winning music discovery web site. At Tunes.com, we launched numerous industry firsts in the areas of music taste profiling, personalization, navigation, and recommendation. I hold 33 U.S. patents across 11 families in fields including music mood classification, perceived tempo determination, taste profiling, playlist generation, and adaptive user interfaces for media discovery & navigation.
