Content included:✔️Analysis of leadership styles, in particular, the military approved Action Centred Leadership three-ball model by John Adair.✔️Subordinate development, including lesson preparation and coaching techniques.✔️Effective written and verbal communication skills.✔️Change management, mapping theoretical models to real life change programmes.✔️Agile thinking skills and ethical decision-making tools.✔️Policy that affects the business.Not only am I able to deliver lessons on the subjects above, I put theory into action.  I was a positive driving force behind all organisational change programmes. The British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS) delivers high quality training to all soldiers and officers prior to deployment on Operations. Its fleet of vehicles and support equipment must be at a high readiness state at all times in order for it to achieve its mission. I was predominantly responsible for:✔️ Executing effective command of up to 24 staff (7 Permanent Civilian, 7 Permanent Military, 10 Temporary Military);✔️ Managing all maintenance activity carried out on over 700 vehicles and over 800 individual pieces of equipment required to provide Tactical and bespoke Communications;✔️ Adhering to local Engineering Management Systems and ISO 9001 standards;✔️ Using IT systems to report platform availability;✔️ Liaising with various organisations to resolve technical issues;Secondary responsibilities included organising department level events.

The British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS) delivers high quality training to all soldiers and officers prior to deployment on Operations. Its fleet of vehicles and support equipment must be at a high readiness state at all times in order for it to achieve its mission. I was predominantly responsible for:✔️ Resolving various technical issues on a fleet of over 1400 vehicles and thousands more individual equipment;✔️ Management and support of 9 contracts worth C$1.7 Million;✔️ Maintaining daily equipment availability returns;✔️ Personnel Administrator and Senior Equipment Manager for the Joint Asset Management and Engineering Solutions IT systems.✔️ Equipment disposal✔️ Close liaison with all sub-departments to ensure any Equipment Support issues are flagged and resolved in a timely manner.

As an instructor at the School of Electronic and Aeronautical Engineering, I was responsible for the delivery and continual improvement of technical equipment courses. These included Tactical Communications systems, Artillery Control systems and Thermal Imagery systems. Students were numerous and varied from the most fledgling technicians and junior leaders to middle managers.As department head I was responsible for delivering briefings to senior staff and visiting dignitaries. Liaison with End Users, Training Development Teams and the Defence Equipment and Support organisiation were integral in ensuring the training remained relevant in an ever changing environment.Secondary responsibilities included Mentor to BSc Students and Organisational Level Event Organiser.

I was predominantly responsible for supervising and mentoring 2 junior technicians whilst they carried out maintenance activities of the electrical and electronic control systems on board over 80 vehicle platforms of varying complexity.Secondary responsibilities included many tasks to ensure the smooth running of the department; including managing technical publication libraries, modification registers and calibration processes.For 4 months I deployed to Iraq as second in command of the Production, Planning and Control Cell. I was integral in the set up and subsequent day to day running and monitoring of the Engineering Management Systems in accordance with ISO 9001 standards. Timely and accurate reporting were vital in ensuring high equipment availability.Due to a manning gap, for 9 months I acted as department head responsible for leading 14 tradesmen conducting all maintenance activities in accordance with local Engineering Management Systems.Maintenance activities were often carried out in harsh conditions within extremely tight deadlines.

Working under minimal supervision I was predominantly responsible for the repair, maintenance and modification of the complex electrical and electronic control systems onboard Artillery platforms; Armoured Fighting Vehicles; Armoured Personnel Carriers and several variants of Wheeled platform.Secondary responsibilities included many tasks to ensure the smooth running of the department; including managing expense stores and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health.For 6 months I was assigned to Northern Ireland where, with no formal training, I conducted all maintenance activities on bomb disposal equipment. During this time I specialised in the repair of Remote Control Vehicles, Multiplexing Circuitry and Fibre Optic Communication Lines.Maintenance activities were often carried out in harsh conditions within extremely tight deadlines.
