I am an experienced attorney in private practice at Husch Blackwell helping clients with health law, information management, and data privacy and security matters. I frequently counsel clients on academic medical center, fraud and abuse, licensing, managed care, medical staffing, Medicare/Medicaid, pharmacy and pharmacy benefit management, 340B drug pricing program, research compliance and transactional issues. I have strong experience in the regulatory complexities surrounding the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and was on the forefront in advising healthcare systems on HIPAA’s privacy and security provisions. I collaborate with clients on developing data privacy and security policies and procedures, conducting risk management assessments of information systems and ensuring compliance.
