I also have significant experience leading pre-sales & business development activity, with a track record of over-achieving targets. I started my career designing avionic systems for what is now the Typhoon jet fighter (we had 1 "PC" for over 100 people). I then helped introduce "computer validation" into the European pharmaceutical industry (hopefully, aiding patient safety & regulatory control), which led to running a company supplying "hi tech engineering solutions" for tablet coating (they were in fact sophisticated washing machines) to pharma companies globally.Then I moved into Business Consultancy, which covers Big 4, technology oriented firms and circa 7 years "being independent". Many highlights, including leading the implementation of a major Govt scheme, which provided financial support to circa 500,000 FE students & apprentices. Almost uniquely for a Govt "IT" programme, this was implemented totally on time and within budget - to the extent the Daily Mail was unable to publish anything about it (don't underestimate how rare that is and thus how good it felt). I "went independent" 7 years ago and have worked with a wide and interesting range of organisations, focused on helping them embrace technology-enabled business change. I have worked with several local authorities, a university, several private sector public service firms, a few financial institutions. I am now working for Atkins Transport Consultancy and Advisory business, with clients on a variety of major business change and digital infrastructure programmes.
