About Peter Focas
TOGAF certified Architect with over 30 years’ industry experience. My strength is in being able to communicate with business and technical stakeholders to ensure business requirements are being met while technical requirements and issues are addressed.I’ve worked across the IT industry in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. My early career was in Mainframe operations, application and network systems programming with ten years spent at IBM culminating in co-authoring a set of IBM ‘Red Books’ to secure IP on the z/OS Mainframe Operating System. I moved into Cisco IP networking in 2000 and progressed through engineering, design and architecture and have developed a global network reference architecture for Fonterra as well as large scale national architectures for the NZ Racing Board and the Ministry of Social Development. I moved into a consultancy role with Voco for a few years until I took a permanent position with Spark as a Principal Consultant in their Professional Services group. I now consult with our government clients providing architecture advice, leading workshops and design teams to provide solutions that meet business and technical goals.
