I was also tasked with writing the framework for the Peace Corps Response Program 5-year Strategic Plan for Rwanda. To support continued organizational efforts, I have drafted and supported various USAID and international government funded projects (over $810,000 total) to increase access to water and food security of approximately 300 households (1500+ individuals) and expand operational space and function of our technical training school. As part of a continued effort to improve the efficacy of projects, I have worked to shift the focus from number of beneficiaries to how well implementation helps achieve programmatic goals.Through trainings, I developed individual capacity on the theory, practice, and implementation of permaculture gardening and sustainable water treatment methods to address Food Security and Gender Equality issues in country for 115 host organization members, Peace Corps Volunteers, counterparts, and community leaders. I also developed a social entrepreneurship business development workshop for Burundian refugees at Mahama Camp through a partnership with Save the Children Fund.
