    In this position Mr. Jeffrey was focused on taking this manufacturing company to be the world leader in its expertise. With this objective as the goal, the Company changed its culture to become a Lean Enterprise, spent twice both the national and provincial averages on employee skills level training, used some of the highest technology in its sector of operations, and teamed with Okanagan College and both the University of British Columbia campuses on research and development projects. Under Mr. Jeffrey’s guidance the Company reduced work-in-process from 1,175 parts to 67, reduced excessive travel by 80%, reduced raw material inventories by 61%, freed up 36% of plant space for additional work, and, most importantly, reduced order to delivery time from 22 days to 12 hours and between 4 to 6 hours on one value stream production line. The Company also became the industry leader in North America in resin transfer (closed) moulding, volume production. In three years productivity increased by 28% on the open mould value stream, while closed moulding saw a productivity increase of 46% over the same period. In March 2007, FormaShape was awarded “Innovative Organization of the Year” by the Okanagan Science & Technology Council recognizing a leading organization that has demonstrated innovation, leadership, sound business practices and community involvement in the research, development and/or application of science and technology. In October 2008 FormaShape won two more awards. One was the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce’s Business Excellence Award for Big Business of the Year, and the second was the Canadian Innovation Award for Productivity Enhancement given at the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters’ annual 2008 Innovation Awards.

    Peter was born and educated in England where he obtained his Chartered Accountancy degree (FCA). He worked in Africa with Coopers & Lybrand and the Bahamas with First City Bank of New York before settling in Vancouver in 1974.Peter has a broad range of executive management experience having held senior management positions with various companies. Prior to joining FormaShape as President in Kelowna, he has held various positions with start up companies including Legend Power Inc., he was President & CEO of Radical Elastomers Inc. where, in eight months he reduced monthly operating expenses by 50% and simultaneously increased productivity by 60%. Prior to this, Peter was President & CEO of Avcorp Industries, a Canadian aerospace manufacturing company. In five years, he achieved a major turnaround of this company, increasing revenues by 225% to $90 million, profits by 190%, and capitalization by 549%. The company employed 800 people in 5 divisions located in British Columbia and Quebec. During his tenure at Avcorp, Peter introduced several advanced innovations, including anthropomorphic robotics for assembly production, a first in North America. He was responsible for establishing the first facility purpose-built for flexible integrated cellular manufacturing in British Columbia and he made Avcorp the first Canadian company in its industry to use high-speed, flexible manufacturing cells to produce components.Upon resigning from Avcorp Industries in 1999, Peter went on to operate his own company providing management services specializing in start-ups, high-tech, and financing at the seed, venture and major exchange levels.
