I monitor the websites of over thirty members of the ESRB Privacy Certified program to ensure that the sites are in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and the additional rules of the program. I prepare compliance reports for member companies enumerating the findings of monitoring and any required changes and then work with publishers to ensure that their sites comply with the program’s rules. I also field customer emails and keep up to date on the state of privacy laws in North America and the EU. For the Advertising Review Counsel, I monitor website and consoles, analyze monthly Nielsen Reports for compliance with ARC guidelines, perform audits of ESRB Website Council website and perform various other advertising oversight duties.

Responsibilities include pre-clearing and ensuring compliance of online and physical advertising for the over 1000 games rated each year. I also helped to set up and monitor the ESRB Website Council (EWC), which works to ensure that enthusiast websites properly inform users of the ratings of games. I also compile reports on compliance trends for the Board of Directors and for the EWC.

I oversee and support the team of NGA Fellows as they work with authors to research, fact check and edit contributions for the 2017 New Global Agenda. I also assist with planning the project as a whole and copy edit all of the final draft materials before sending them to the publisher.

For my graduate capstone project, I researched how people learn in museums, with a focus on long-term learning and behavior change and recent work on climate change education. I developed several criteria for effective exhibits with the aim of applying these lessons to the Climate Museum's goals of teaching and building movement around climate change. I also studied three exhibits about climate change throughout the US, reviewing them and seeing if and how they addressed the criteria I had developed and how/whether they had been effective or ineffective in teaching their visitors. Based on this literature review and review of exhibits, I created and presented a large report for the Project describing best practices to use in developing exhibits for their mission with the museum.
