This role involves collaborating with Hungary’s Transmission System Operator (TSO), Distribution System Operator (DSO), and power exchanges to ensure smooth operations and effective integration of ancillary services.Ancillary services play a critical role in maintaining grid stability and ensuring a reliable energy supply. These services include balancing energy, frequency control, voltage control, and operating reserves. To quantify the impact of these services, I oversee the measurement and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as response times, service availability, and the financial value generated from participation in the ancillary services market.By optimizing these metrics, I help Photon Energy capitalize on revenue streams linked to the provision of flexibility and support services to the grid. The Hungarian ancillary services market has experienced significant growth, with the TSO increasing its procurement of balancing reserves to accommodate the rising share of renewable energy sources. In 2023, the TSO procured approximately 500 MW of frequency containment reserves, marking a 20% increase from the previous year. This expansion reflects the growing importance of flexibility services in maintaining grid stability amid the integration of variable renewable energy sources.

As a Junior Product Manager at Photon Energy, I lead the development and strategic implementation of our products on the Hungarian market, focusing on electricity offtake, supply, and asset flexibility. My role requires constant monitoring of energy market trends, new regulations, and legislative changes to keep our offerings competitive and compliant. As a Senior Analyst - Compliance & Regulated Markets, I am responsible for staying up to date with market changes and schemes on the energy market in the UK, Ireland, and Hungary. I provide our clients with detailed summaries of how these changes will impact their business and what they can expect on the forward market for the next 10 years. This includes delivering market news, rate change notifications, and other market intelligence services.I also provide ad-hoc analysis tailored to the needs of clients who have requested it, and I am responsible for obtaining and implementing intelligence on these topics to our internal closed system. This helps to create useful data for other internal teams such as data/invoicing, client management, and risk management.
