Hospital site: St Bartholomew's HospitalAccepted the role when approached to act up as the "Lead Dispensary Pharmacist"• Highly involved with LEAN Six Sigma event for haem oncology day unit• Setup training for the screening/verification of oral chemotherapy prescriptions • Managed band 6 pharmacists (rotated every 3-6 months) • Implemented, updated and improved many operational workflow processes • Initiated the improvement of clinical trial documentation and standard operating procedures.• Built up excellent working relationships both within and with other teams• Improved the workflow processes on a busy disorganised surgical ward (6 directorates): built a good working relationships with the teams, wrote reference guides for doctors and nurses, held teaching sessions, met up with consultants. • Worked closely with IT team to test and improve electronic discharge prescriptions• Created live communication logs (excel document with VBA macros) to optimise workflow • Created a local reference webpage to assist all staff with clinical screening of prescriptions. This webpage include quick links to intranet protocols and SOP, access to previous problems and queries, procedures for complicated prescriptions, access to various calculators (body surface area, renal function, ideal body weight). This project was such a success that various other teams have implemented variations of this webpage for their own teams.
