As an entrepreneur and former staffing business manager, I take the success of our employers personally--Their success is my success.

At Journal-World Media & Step Up Job Fairs I have helped hundreds of employers find qualified candidates. I developed the Lawrence, Topeka, and Kansas City job fairs, seeking and incorporating feedback from employers and job seekers, and striving to make our job fairs the most effective in the region. We attract job seekers using websites, social media, email and partnership marketing, radio and newspapers to get the word out to active and passive candidates. My one-hour "Motivational Training" before each job fair increases the "step-up and speak" rate during the job fairs, and contributes to what some employers say are the most effective job fairs they attend. The training is not your typical job seeker presentation however--This is Steven Covey & Zig Ziglar crossed with a recruiter and hiring manager, and I help the perpetually unemployed to transform how they think and behave so that employers will be confident that they should hire them.

I developed and managed programs to help low income individuals and families to become more self-reliant and improve their lives. Services included 2 early education sites, 3 food banks, and a clothing bank.

Started the JayTalkers branch of Toastmasters, recruiting over 20 members and officers.

I opened a new branch office, beginning with no clients or contracts, and achieved profitability in under 7 months. A major client said we were 1 of 6 agencies they used, and after one year they were using us alone, because we filled openings fast, and with the best people. Responsible for sales, recruitment, hiring, training, customer service, advertising, community engagement, HR, legal, investigations, discipline, policy enforcement, payroll, unemployment, worker comp, etc.

Organized and implemented training for 110 call center employees, including the supervisory staff. Managed Quality Assurance and supervised a team of Customer Service Representatives until I was offered the lead role in opening Sedona Staffing Services.
