BURN designs and manufactures clean-burning, fuel efficient "jiko" cookstoves that mitigate the dire environmental and personal health consequences stemming from traditional developing-world charcoal and firewood cookstoves. BURN brought me on in October, 2018 to re-engineer their flagship "Jikokoa" product, aiming to increase durability, firepower, and efficiency, while dramatically reducing production and retail costs. The goal was to take an already amazing product and make it accessible to consumers on a mass-market scale. There are some extraordinary engineering challenges and feats behind that simple value proposition, and here are some highlights:- Reduced the stove's part count by 26%, dramatically simplifying production steps and complexity- Reduced material cost per stove by 24% and manufacturing time by 35% - a critical part of making the product accessible to developing markets- Used SolidWorks (primarily Surfacing and Sheet Metal) on a daily basis for everything from prototyping and conceptualization to modeling production stove components and factory-ready tooling- Collaborated with Market Research team to better understand Kenyan retail trends and consumer preferences- Communicated design concepts and test results to executives and partners on a weekly basis, distilling the most meaningful insights and justifying my decisions

- Designed intricate “bed of nails” PCB test fixtures for industrial IoT devices.- Fabricated all interactive physical components of a high-profile augmented reality demo for CES 2018.- Developed test apparatus and methodology for in-house acoustic analysis of electro-mechanical prototypes.- Machined and prototyped parts, developed CAD models, and made critical design and material selection decisions.- Facilitated brainstorms, design reviews, and FMEA studies in dynamic engineering-consulting environment.

UIF is a national program run out of Stanford's Hasso Plattner Institute of Design that empowers student leaders to increase campus engagement with entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity, design thinking and venture creation. Assisted the Universal Creative team in re-opening the Incredible Hulk Coaster. Designed sheet metal templates for installing the ride vehicle safety signs, verified the designs for on-site fall protection, and assessed the feasibility for potential patents.

Analyzed and developed company-wide practice for contacting, informing, and tracking new industry leads. Monitored day-to-day functionality of music tracking software and taught the system how to analyze more accurately. Contributed content and reviews to music tech blog.

Worked on an interdisciplinary team to design marketing and rollout strategies to boost MyNetwork's on-campus reach through career development centers. Conducted research and applied findings to design advertising that would educate students about the importance of networking and set them up for successful careers.

Designed mock layout for new athletics complex and traffic system for high school campus in eastern PA. Utilized AutoCAD to evaluate Lehigh Valley Health Network site topography and propose new contour lines and grades for a handicap sidewalk. Observed municipal engineering, land design, and on-site construction.
